Surface resistivity or volume resistivity measurements.

The Infrared testing machine at Applied Aerospace & Defense in Huntsville, Alabama formerly known as Nexolve.

Applied can perform measurement of IR reflectance and emittance (emissivity) using an AZ Technology Temp 2000A Emissometer/reflectometer. This instrument can measure total hemispherical reflectance between approximately 3 micrometers to greater than 35 micrometers wavelength. Both normal and hemispherical 300k (ambient) emittance measurements can be performed.

Infrared properties are measured in accordance with the ASTM E408 specifications, to your specifications, or we can custom tailor a method to suit your product or testing needs.

IR Emittance Testing Services

Hemispherical or Normal IR Emittance per ASTM E408-13.

Tenile Testing at Applied Aerospace & Defense in Huntsville Alabama formerly known as Nexolve.

Applied Aerospace & Defense can perform measurement of many different tensile properties for various polymer film and metal foil materials. Tensile properties can be measured at temperatures over the range from -135 °C – 180 °C using Instron tensile testers with an environmental chamber and load cells up to 2kN. Liquid helium test temperatures are also available for certain materials and configurations.

Tensile Testing Services

Tensile Strength; Elongation at Break; Elastic Modulus; Yield Strength; Peel Strength (180° Peel). ASTM D638-10, D882-02, D3528-96, D1002-05, D1938-08, and other tests available.

Applied can perform infrared (IR) transmission, reflection, and absorption measurements using a Bruker Tensor 27 infrared spectrometer coupled with a gold-coated integrating sphere. IR spectra of samples in many forms including liquids, solids, or films may be collected in the spectral range from 1 – 25 microns. Infrared spectra are measured in accordance with the ASTM E1252 specifications to your specifications, or we can custom tailor a method to suit your product or testing needs.

FTIR Testing Services

Infrared Transmission, Reflection, Absorption as a function of wavelength or wavenumber for films, and liquids.

Applied can perform ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared transmission, reflection, and absorption measurements of film samples using a Perkin Elmer UV/Vis/NIR spectrometer coupled with a Spectralon coated integrating sphere. Spectroscopic measurements can also be performed on liquid samples using quartz cuvettes and a standard optics configuration. Calculation of air mass zero or air mass 1.5 solar transmittance, reflectance, or absorptance values can also be performed from the measured data for film samples. Spectra of samples in many forms, including liquids, solids, or films, may be collected in the spectral range from 250 – 2500 nm (and higher in some cases).
